Please be advised that, as of 1 September 2026, Resolution No. 642 of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 29 May 2026 “On Amendments to Resolution No. 1052 of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 29 June 2021 ‘On Approval of the Rules for State Control (Supervision) over International Road Transport at Checkpoints across the State Border of the Russian Federation” (hereinafter referred to as the “Resolution”) will enter into force.
In accordance with the requirements of the Resolution, where a violation of the legislation of the Russian Federation on payment of tolls for travel on toll roads is detected at a checkpoint (within the territory of the Russian Federation), and the violation was committed using a vehicle belonging to a foreign carrier, a customs official shall issue the driver with a demand to pay the toll for travelling on toll roads and shall issue a decision prohibiting the vehicle from proceeding.
It is recommended that, before travelling to the Russian Federation, you make sure that there are no outstanding toll payments. Information on outstanding payments can be obtained by following this link.
